1.18.2009 reunion dinner last night! at some ulu place. i was totally camwhoring.>< ashleyyy! so sweet right.   group hug!  group hug 2 without huiying  shiying and huiying!  shiying being lame.  lamer.  mass laming  jodi and ashley!  natasha and jodi! natasha is so stone.  anyway there was this wedding dinner at the same restaurant and the singing was awful. they were killing each other with their vocals i think. there was this super loud quarrel and one very drunk drunkard. i shall never go back to that place.:x more details about obs! i have a habit of ranting on for decades so i shall keep it short and sweet. day1: had icebreakers and stuff at punggol. got there, put down stuff, went to pitch tents, dinner at canteen. chicken wings, steamed egg and cabbage! plus weird soup. then had a bath, went to sleep. day2: woke early to unpitch tents. it was right at the sea plus the tide was really high in the middle of the night and we kept getting woken up by the waves and one part it was alarmingly high and we thought it would flood up and we'd have to move. thank God we didnt:) took our backpacks and trekked to camp2. sang the 1oo bottles of beer thing on the way. got there, had lunch, did some falling things and did some belaying thinggy. then slacked around. kim was all "i respect my orange" and we were damn high. the whole orange incident became a MAJOR joke throughout OBS. then we learnt the basics of kayaking and then we had to go and capsize ourselves out in the sea. me and kim are such suckers at kayaking. we veered all the way to the left coast instead of out forward into the sea. lol. everyone was totally screaming at us. we would have failed, really. then got back, showered, camped in this AWESOME place with those cool super bright lights like at stadiums. we could pitch tents without torches.:)) day3: woke early to unpitch again. later we kayaked, for real. started at 11plus. we were totally against the tide! like the waves and wind was coming towards us and we werent moving AT ALL! it was seriously exhausting. then we took a lunch break and decided to turn back. which was slightly easier cause now the tide was sort-of with us. reached back at 630-ish at camp2. we kayaked a good 14 km. but heck, camp 2 was empty. really a ghost town! all the other watches had gone to camp elsehwere. so there was no electricity at all. which means the toilet was absolutely dark and it was 7 plus. gahhhh. that was The Worst Night Of OBS Ever. AND we had to pack and cook dinner with only the light of torches. very horrible. i had the satisfaction of chucking my horrible wet smelly sandy shoes. we trekked out to our campsite at 9plus in the pitch dark. it was right beside this reservior thinggy. it was so horribly rocky i had this stone right where my hipbone was.>< grahhh. day4: got up early again. no toilets so we had to just do our business in this patch of ground. and i had to use the entrenchment tool which is really just a fancy name for thing which you use to dig a hole for shitting in. haha we had some milo-ovaltine misture which actually tasted pretty good. and we played some ding-dong game which everyone sits in a circle and person1 holds out some object and goes to person2 p1:this is a ding p2: a what? p1: a ding! p2: oh, this is a ding! and p2 goes to p3: this is a ding! p3: a what? p2(to p1): a what? p1: a ding! p2(t0 p3): a ding! p3: oh, this is a ding! and p3 goes to p4: this is a ding! p4(to p3): a what? p3(to p2): a what? p2(t0 P1): a what? p1(to p2): a ding! p2(to p3): a ding! p3(to p4): a ding! p4: oh, this is a ding! then height elements! it was pretty challenging plus that fact that it was beginning to drizzle and it was about 4storeys high.:/ but it was pretty satisfying all the same. climbed with grace.:)) campsite was some ulu hill. then we had an awesome dinner. which includes 1)too much rice 2)awesome egg with luncheon meat by me, priscilla and vera 3)curry chicken which was awesome 4)bakedbeans 5) veg soup at first we tried to stir-fry cabbage+long beans+luncheon meat but after 6 fuel tablets and lots of time and after sabo-ing the whole watch to sample our food, we figured why the long beans were raw. WE WERE SUPPOSED TO PEEL THEM!?!? but it was fun anyway. showered, went to camp and sleep. day5: oh man we were so happy it was the last dayyy! jetty jumped early in the morning 73o-ish. i only decided to jump last minute. had to borrow kim's shoes. showered, then packed and prepped for performance. performance was really funnyy. we sang if you're happy and you know it cause we always burst out singing it.:) 1)clap your hands 2)stomp your feet 3)pull you ears(toing-toing!) 4)shake your butt(whoo-hoo!) haha plus some last-minute dedication to yanleng/boo. to the tune of i am cow. i am boo hear me moo i am half as tall as you and i look hot when im wearing shoes. yup then we went back. i think my summary skills suck. joan
